Bicester Town 2 Pegasus Juniors 1 INABILITY to convert possession into goals again proved costly for Pegasus who now sit uncomfortably just a single place off the foot of the Sport Italia Hellenic League Premier Division.

Pegasus had a great chance to open the scoring in the early stages when David Griffiths raced on to a Rob Laurie pass, rounded goalkeeper Jeff Simmonds but then saw his shot blocked by a defender when Martin Kalista was unmarked in front of an open goal.

Jamie Hales produced a couple of good saves from Bicester's Sam Houlihan before the city side opened the scoring just short of the half-hour mark.

David Hart's through-ball was seized upon by Liam Jones who outpaced his marker before shooting past Simmonds.

Bicester got back on level terms just before the interval when Hales got a hand to a Houlihan shot but was unable to keep the ball out.

Houlihan headed Bicester in front early in the second period and this set the visitors back for a while before they produced a strong finish.

Jones fired into the side-netting and the city side's luck was out in injury time when Hart's goal-bound shot was deflected wide of a post by a defender with the goalkeeper going the other way.
