Ellesmere Rangers 2 Ledbury Town 0 TWO late strikes against the run of play ruined what had been an encouraging performance, leaving Town to rue missed chances as they slipped to another defeat in the Premier Division of the West Midlands League.
Ledbury belied their lowly position in the league as they played attractive football to create numerous first half chances. The second half started the same way with Town well in control, chances being created and a win surely just a matter of time. With time running out, and keeper Alex Goode having been a virtual spectator for much of the game, disaster struck.
Ledbury conceded a corner minutes before time and central defender Jorge Gomes headed home with power.
Then, barely a minute later, winger Rob Onions whipped the ball over for Adam Hobson to turn the game on its head with a second goal.
ROSS Town lost 3-2 at home to Hook Norton in the Sport Italia Hellenic League Division 1 West after leading 2-1, with goals from Rob Patch and Ian Phillips, after 87 minutes.
