Hinton 1 Riverway 3 HINTON'S inconsistent form in West Midlands League Division 1continued when they followed up the previous week's good away performance, with a sloppy display at Broomy Hill against fellow mid-table opponents.
The sides were evenly matched for half an hour but then Hinton handed the Stafford side the initiative when they gifted them a goal.
A weak clearance resulted in a penalty as the ball was blasted back against the arm of skipper Phil Glover.
Hinton tried to atone for the error, but a bright start to the second half was ruined when the visitors were gifted a second goal, albeit with a suspicion of handball.
Throwing caution to the wind Hinton were back in the game, Jody Dawe picking himself up to score from a free-kick after being scythed down.
When Hinton were awarded another attacking free kick minutes later it should have put pressure on the visitors. Unfortunately the ball was lost and a quick break left them trailing by two goals once again.
