MORE than 90 cricketers and their guests attended the annual presentation evening and dinner of the Flint & Cook Marches League at the Three Counties Hotel.

The awards were presented by former Wales rugby international Clive Rowlands who was also the evening's guest speaker.

For the first time, one of the major awards went to a female cricketer with Woolhope 2nd's Jo Greaves picking up the player of the match award for her performances in Division 5.

In Division 1, a similar award went to Roger Lord of Goodrich, whose skipper Andrew Brown collected the Division 1 championship shield on behalf of his club. Goodrich completed a double by also winning the Advantage Business Supplies knock-out cup.

Division 1's leading batsman was Kingsley Morris of Burghill & Tillington who scored 716 runs at an average of 71.6 with a top score of 143 not out.

The bowling award in the top division went to Stuart Griffiths of Garnons, whose 29 wickets were achieved a cost of 13.6 each.
