A HEADED goal from keeper Chris Weale five minutes into injury-time secured an iunlikely point for Yeovil at the Huish.
With 12 minutes left, Hereford led 2-0 through Jennison Myrie-Williams and Steve Guinan and seemed on course for the fourth away win of the season.
Hereford were without Toumani Diagouraga for the first time this season.
The influential midfielder’s illness absence paved the way for a first League start for teenager Craig Jones.
Centre-back Josh Gowling was also absent, leading to a recall at the heart of the defence for Richard Rose alongside Dean Beckwith.
And with Febian Brandy suffering from the same illness bug as Diagouraga and Gowling, Andy Williams made a welcome return in attack.
Peter Gulacsi came out bravely at the feet of Gavin Tomlin to save in only the second minute.
But the keeper enjoyed a remarkable piece of fortune just a couple of minutes later.
The Hungarian under-19 international saw a shot from Paul Warne squirm through his hands before hitting the inside of a post and rebounding into the keeper’s arms.
Hereford enjoyed their share of the attacking in a lively opening with shots from Kris Taylor and Steve Guinan flying wide of the target.
Yeovil threatened again on 15 minutes when Jonathan Obika raced into the box and drew a good, diving save from Gulacsi with a fierce drive.
Two corners followed for the home side which were comfortably dealt with by the Hereford rearguard.
The Bulls stunned the home crowd by taking the lead on 27 minutes.
Taylor, who was often prominent on the left in the early stages, slipped a pass to Guinan.
The Bulls skipper drove in a cross to Myrie-Williams who brought the ball under control before hammering a shot past Chris Weale.
Yeovil tried to hit back but Keiran Murtagh’s shot and then Aaron Brown’s header went high over.
Andros Townsend’s shot was turned away well for a corner by Gulacsi who distinguished himself again three minutes before the break with a fine block from Murtagh.
Hereford forced an early corner in the second half but the action swiftly switched back to the other end.
Townsend’s shot forced a diving save from Gulacsi and the keeper did well to block from Tomlin after a slip from Sam Gwynne allowed Townsend to get in a cross from the left.
The home side missed a great chance to level on 57 minutes after Gwynne brought down Tomlin in the area.
Townsend took the penalty but hammered the spot-kick over the bar.
The miss proved costly as, within three minutes, Hereford had doubled their lead.
After the Bulls forced a couple of corners, Guinan controlled Matt Done’s cross before smashing his 15th goal of the season past Weale.
Yeovil, as was to be expected, piled everything into attack and finally reduced arrears 12 minutes from time with a deflected goal from substitute Luke Rodgers.
Hereford continued to profit from the space allowed as Yeovil pressed forward and Williams had a shot headed off the line before driving a free-kick into the side-netting.
But injury-time, Weale came up for a corner and headed in a picture goal at the far post to secure a point for the home side.
