LEOMINSTER Hockey Club goalkeeper James Fortnam has been named as the players’ player of the season.
Fortnam won the first-team honour after helping Leominster to the North Division 1 title in the N4 Financial Solutions West of England and South Wales League. Yon Saunders was chosen as the captain’s player of the year, while Rob Goodman won the top goalscorers’ award.
Harry Ellis was the players’ player of the year for the club’s second team who finished eighth in Herefords & Glos 1.
Sam Morris won the captain’s award and Chris Connop carried off the second team’s top scorer accolade.
Steve Mumford was given a special honour for his services to hockey. Club spokesman Neil Stokes thanked Caroline Downs for her umpiring and the Ducking Stool for their post-match hospitality.
